Leave No Stone Unturned

Here are some quick tips to begin with if you have just discovered your pet has gone missing.

CLOSE ALL EXITS.      If your pet just disappeared from home, make sure you close all possible exits until you are able to search your home completely. Many pets are found in hiding places right under a pet owner‘s nose
ASK FOR HELP.      Quickly call anyone who might be able to help you begin your search. Call your husband or wife, partner, friend, neighbor or other person who might be available and sympathetic to your situation
SEARCH YOUR HOME AND YARD.      Check your home and do it quickly! If your pet went missing from home, it is important to completely search the inside and exterior of your house Make a check-list of all possible hiding places in your home and yard. Of course, if you saw your pet run away or if your pet was lost from a location away from home you can skip this step, unless your pet has been missing for over 24 hours, then you need to do this step AGAIN. This is important for elderly pets, smaller pets, and pets with known health problems. However, even healthy pets and large animals have been found inside the home or on the property. One person found their dog in the basement after they had searched the surrounding neighborhood for days!

In addition to searching for your pet, you are looking for clues. Be aware of the following clues: fur indicating that a pet is hiding in a specific location or traveled a certain path, paw prints that possibly belong to your pet, fur indicating that your pet was in a fight or attacked, paw prints indicating the presence of other animals, and scat or excrement indicating the presence of other animals or your pet

Finally, after you have your beloved pet back home, if you're looking for some new furry friends to add to your family, then look no further. There are 6 rescue kittens up for adoption in the Sunland/L.A. area. There is a $60 adoption fee which includes first set of shots. Must be indoor homes only.
