Things to Remember

If your pet went missing under unique circumstances or you haven‘t found your pet within a reasonable period of time searching on your own, please contact a professional Pet Detective or licensed Private Investigator who specializes in locating lost pets. It's important to remember that yes, some pets do come home, but cars, fences, busy streets and well-meaning rescuers get in their way. In addition, if a pet is displaced out of their known territory they might not be able to find their way back home safely. Even if a pet starts off in the right direction, roads do not always continue in that same direction. Pets are more likely to return home if you live in a rural area with less traffic. A study done by a veterinarian found that only 8-11% of lost pets return home on their own!

Most pet owners start their search in the common ways: hanging flyers, checking shelters, etc. However, even if it seems like you are covering all of your bases, there are other things that need to be done. IF AT ANY TIME IN YOUR SEARCH YOU GET A VISUAL ON YOUR DOG DO NOT RUN AFTER YOUR PET!!! We find that running after a pet is not a good idea. Often they are already in a state of panic and chasing them does not help. BE PREPARED. SIT DOWN. Have a towel, blanket and leash with you. REMAIN CALM. Softly call to your dog. If you have a can of dog food or sardines with you, open a can of food and set it away from you. SEE IF YOUR DOG WILL APPROACH. We have had people spend UP TO THREE HOURS coaxing their dog to them. And of course, always remember that PATIENCE is KEY! We want to do everything possible to help you find your lost pets, so please contact us if you have any further questions needed to guide you.

Last, but most definitely not least we would like to spread the word about Indie, who's been missing since July 8th. Please see and use the information below if you have any knowledge of  Indie's whereabouts. Thank you.
